Ehsan Roshani is a research officer and team lead at the National Research Council of Canada, based in Ottawa. His research primarily focuses on infrastructure and its long-term sustainability, safety, and security—keeping dams and pipelines in shape so they don’t take unexpected vacations. With over 20 years of experience, Ehsan has worked in various roles within consulting firms, the research and development industry, and government. He has published over 30 scientific papers and contributed to the development of several standards and guidelines for the water industry in collaboration with the Canadian Standards Association. Over the past decade, his main focus has been on the use of AI and big data in infrastructure asset management, proving that even concrete and steel can have a digital twin.
