Eric Kolaczyk is a professor and inaugural director of the Computational and Data Systems Initiative (CDSI) at McGill University. He was previously at Boston University, where most recently he was director of the Rafik B. Hariri Institute for Computing. He formerly served as co-chair of the US National Academies of Sciences, Medicine, and Engineering Roundtable on Data Science Education. In his own teaching and research he has spent 30 years innovating where education and development support human endeavors enabled by computing and engineered systems. His efforts as CDSI director are now focused on helping the McGill University community optimize how it does the same, both internally and in partnership externally.
