As director of the Data Stewardship Initiative, Maureen Kelly provides the vision and leadership for one of CIHI’s key strategic initiatives — to advance the adoption of a stewardship approach to Canada’s health data in order to address the existing fragmentation and complexities that limit the sharing and use of health data.
Ms. Kelly has always been passionate about using data for public benefit. She began her career at the Office for National Statistics in the UK focused on social and population health statistics. Following a secondment at Statistics Canada, she joined CIHI in 2003 and has held several leadership positions, including the inaugural director of data governance.
Ms. Kelly holds an Honours Bachelor of Arts degree in Social and Political Sciences from Cambridge University, England and a postgraduate certification in Applied Statistics.
